Varatun Gård
Culture, Arts and Crafts Center.
An old farm with a variety of activities in the workshops. Local handcrafts for manufacture of products in materials such as wood, metal, stone and clay is presented.
The Lende Workshop and “Lenden's” idea of creating a workshop where children and elderly can meet and create something together, will be the recurrent them throughout the entire visit.
Active living in a cultural landscape
Hike to Dalsnuten mountain.
In the Capital of Culture in 2008 the city's population got a unique experience with nature and outdoor activities, combined with exciting cultural expressions. You are invited to an exciting adventure where you will experience the beautiful scenery and cultural experiences in the landscape. Remember good hiking shoes!
Prehospital coordination
There will be a possibility to visit Stavanger University hospital, prehospital department. The coordination between the local municipalities’ emergency room and the ambulance services will be focused. The Norwegian guidelines for medical emergencies will be demonstrated.
Healthy urban planning and Physical activity
A bicycle ride through parts of the city centre and the nearby Sandvedparken with information on regeneration and transformation of parts of the city centre and the connection with surrounding green areas for recreation and environmental friendly transport.
Active old age
Age no barrier.
We visit three different locations in the city, all give good offers to the city's older residents. All locations are in short walking distance of each other.
We start at the Skeianetunet, a cultural and social institution for elderly people. Then we go to Byhagen BOAS, a combination of nursing homes, housing, health care and activity center. The tour ends at Sandnes Volunteer Centre.
